We are looking for a Head of Financial Reporting and Accounting to lead our company’s financial reporting, accounting operations, and technical accounting functions. This role will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reporting, managing the month-end close process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes and systems. You will lead a high-performing team and collaborate cross-functionally to support strategic growth and operational scale.
Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and provide oversight on complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition, equity, leases, and internally developed software
Own the monthly close process, including general ledger oversight, consolidations, intercompany activity, and account reconciliations
Manage the company’s technical accounting function, including drafting and maintaining accounting policies and memos
Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and lead the coordination of the annual audit
Maintain and enhance internal controls
Partner with FP&A, legal, tax, treasury, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and accuracy in financial reporting
Identify and lead initiatives to improve reporting, automation, and overall accounting efficiency
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team; coach, mentor, and provide professional development opportunities
Evaluate and implement systems improvements or ERP enhancements to support scalability
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA a plus
CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Big 4 or public accounting background and experience in corporate accounting leadership roles
Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP; SEC reporting experience is a plus
Experience managing audits, designing internal controls, and drafting technical memos
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAGE Intacct) and reporting tools
Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills for interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Fluency in English (written and verbal)
Experience working in a collaborative multinational business
Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and financial systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience in a high-growth and/or Venture backed company preferred
