Maryland Digitizes Assistive Technology Financing Through Audit-Ready Agentic Workflows
Federally mandated program replaces manual governance with a fully traceable, audit-ready digital lifecycle powered by Creatio
Creatio, a global vendor of an agentic CRM and no-code platform for workflow automation, today announced that the Maryland Department of Disabilities has modernized its Assistive Technology Financing Program using Creatio’s agentic workflows to digitize board governance, streamline reporting, and strengthen regulatory compliance.
The Maryland Assistive Technology Program provides low-interest financing that enables residents with disabilities to access essential technologies, from communication devices and Braille equipment to adapted vehicles and home modifications. Managing these applications requires rigorous financial review, lender coordination, formal board approval, and strict adherence to federal and state reporting requirements.
Previously reliant on a locally installed database and manual coordination, the program faced fragmented data, time-intensive reporting, and limited visibility across the financing lifecycle. By implementing Creatio’s platform, the department centralized applications, automated board documentation and vote capture, and embedded compliance reporting directly into structured workflows.
“With Creatio, the whole process lives in one place, in one system,” said Lori Berrong, Executive Director of the Assistive Technology Program at the Maryland Department of Disabilities. “We don’t have to dig around in emails or paper files anymore. It saves time and helps ensure the information we’re working with is accurate.”
The transformation was completed with minimal disruption, with help from Creatio’s partner – Keen360, establishing a controlled and auditable digital environment that supports faster decision-making while reinforcing transparency and accountability.
By replacing manual oversight with agentic workflows, the Maryland Department of Disabilities has built a scalable foundation for long-term digital governance within a high-accountability public financing program.
The initiative reflects broader public sector findings from Nucleus Research, which show that government organizations replacing legacy systems with Creatio accelerate delivery timelines by 88%, improve cross-department visibility, and reduce IT overhead.
